Kakimoto Hiromi
KAKIMOTO Hiromi was born in Osaka, Japan. In 1997, the artist earned a Diploma in Fine Art Photography from Japan institute of Photography and she earned a B.F.A in photography from Seian University of Art And Design in 1999. Since graduation, she has presented her works at various international exhibitions. In 2002, she received the Ueno Hikoma Award in Japan. The main themes of her works shows memories and the border between the real and unreal. She is particularly interested in creating different stories. By using mental pictures of hers, she turn them into an actual photographic works. These images sometimes reflect everyday life, the recurring themes of dreams are often seen in her works. She is also influenced by the subconscious world as well as the subjects of synchronicity, and mythology. She continues to explore these fields and discover how she can use them in her works.
