The Third Gallery Aya is pleased to announce a solo show titled “okinawan portraits 2012-2016” by ISHIKAWA Ryuichi.
The Third Gallery Aya is pleased to announce a solo show by Ishikawa Ryuichi entitled Okinawan Portraits 2012–2016.
Two photo books were released after last year’s show, and Ishikawa has been engaged in wide-ranging activities including not only solo and group exhibitions at galleries and museums but also participation in photo festivals.
We exhibit works from his okinawan portraits series that he photographed after his last show at our gallery. Ishikawa’s images have changed from a square format, with extraneous elements omitted, to a rectangular one in which he captures both Okinawan people and the landscapes in the background, the artist’s gaze penetrating more deeply into multiple layers.
